Job Search Guide

How to Find Job Vacancies and Verify Listings

A practical method for finding openings, checking the original employer source and preparing a focused application.

Where to look for current job vacancies

Vacancies change quickly, so the safest approach is to use job-search platforms to discover openings and then verify each listing on the employer's official career page. Search for the role title plus a location, skill or contract type. Set alerts when a platform offers them, and review the date posted and application deadline before preparing documents.

LinkedIn Jobs

Search professional roles, filter by location and experience, and review the employer's profile before applying.

Employer career pages

For a role you are interested in, search the employer's official website and look for its careers or vacancies section. This is often the best place to confirm the current status.

Search terms that produce more focused results

Combine a job title with a skill, level or location: for example, “IT support technician entry level”, “customer service English speaking”, “administrative assistant Excel”, “junior data analyst”, “apprenticeship IT support” or “warehouse inventory coordinator”. Try common alternatives because employers may use different titles for similar work. Use quotation marks for an exact phrase when a search engine supports them.

Keep an application tracker

A simple spreadsheet can record the employer, role, original vacancy URL, location, date found, deadline, date applied, contact person, status and follow-up date. This reduces duplicate applications and makes it easier to prepare for interviews. You can adapt our free data-entry template or download other Excel templates.

Before you submit

Read the instructions carefully. Some employers request a CV only; others require a cover letter, certificates, portfolio or answers to screening questions. Name files clearly, such as FirstName_LastName_CV.pdf, and check that the files open. Keep a copy of the exact version you sent.

Important: This page is a job-search guide, not a live vacancy feed. We do not present third-party listings as verified current vacancies. Confirm all openings, eligibility criteria and deadlines directly with the employer.
